The following weekend we got to see our team play again by traveling with the GTDC Alumni Club to the UVA game in Charlottesville. It has been so much fun to be able to see them even though we moved so far away. Unfortunately it rained--make that poured--the whole time (it would stop just long enough to fool you into thinking it was stopping). We looked like a bunch of wet puppies, but very happy ones when we won. It was a long wet ride back to Arlington. Ryan took a photo of us with his phone that I might be able to upload later, but it really doesn't do our "wetness" any justice. I hid in the aisle tunnel for some of the downpours, but Ryan was a better fan than I (even though I think that makes me a smarter one).
Ok, now I really think we are caught up. Go Jackets! Can't wait to see them beat the dawgs at Thanksgiving!
If I remember the story correctly Ryan had a hat at the Virginia game which Steph did not! That may have had something to do with you hiding out during some of the down pours! Glad you are still enjoying your games! See you some Mom B
ReplyDeleteIt was more a general feeling of being soaked. Between rains, the guys near us would take off their shirts and ring them out. I wanted to do that with my jeans, but obviously did not. The UVA students sit on a grassy area in one of the end zones and the rain carved out a "slide" in the grass so they were sliding down this massive mud slide. We were on the other side of the stadium and could see the mud flying up all around them. I'm sure they showed it on tv. It was funny.
ReplyDeleteOh and your son was a good boy and tried to zip his hood onto my jacket (I had left mine at home), but it wouldn't fit. Thanks for raising him right!! :)
